Because our skin doesn’t descriminate by gender, we made a conscious decision to develop unisex products that suit both men and women. All skin concerns can affect all people. So we do not have a range specific to men, but there are numerous products that will suit depedning on their skin. Here are some suggestions:

If your skin is prone to blemishes (pimples, blackheads, oily areas, on the forehead for example) use thePurifying Cleansing Gel – B06, to gently cleanse the face and reduce their appearance.

If your skin becomes red and sensitive after shaving, Pure Active Enoxolone – A43 will soothe, hydrate and strengthen. Apply 4 drops on the affected area.

If you have expression lines in the eye, forehead or frown area, apply the Actif Pur Peptide-4, pro-collagen – A12.

If you have dry and itchy skin, we recommend the Light Moisturising Cream – B28.

With creams that contain multiple active ingredients, there’s a high chance your skin might not need everything that they contain. Furthermore, the claim “cocktail of active ingredients” implies that “active ingredients are in low concentration”. Our intent is to not over-treat the skin, but to focus on specific problems to address and treat them effectively with active ingredients in effective doses. Pure Active products were therefore designed to effectively treat each specific skin concern, no matter how big or small.

To guarantee its efficiency, every Pure Active product contains the concentration dose recommended by the International Science Council. It is also bound to a patented penetrating system, IN SKIN®, that will carry it within the skin, where it is needed.

Pure Active is applied directly on clean and dry skin, before any cream. Only a few drops are needed.

A new skin care ritual: you select the active ingredients specific to your skin and apply them where they are most needed, for a targeted treatment.

We do not recommend mixing ETAT PUR products together prior to applying them to the face. This would reduce the efficacy of the Pure Actives. There is nothing to mix. The Pure Active range was designed for direct application on clean skin and dries before applying any cream. We recommend:

1. Cleanse your skin.
2. Apply a few drops of Pure Active, only when your skin specifically needs it.
3. Moisturise and enhance your skin with a Biomimetic Pure Skincare product.
4. If your skin is exposed to sunlight, apply sun protection.

If you are using more than 1 Pure Active at a time (recommended max 2) we recommend laying them on the skin rather than mixing the products together. This is how ETAT PUR Pure Actives have been formulated to be used to ensure optimal efficacy and will provide the best outcome for your skin.

ETAT PUR has separated active ingredients from skincare products.
Pure Skincare is your baseline cleansing and moisturising range. These products contain no active ingredients, are 98% biomimetic to the skin and work only to strengthen the skin’s natural resources.
Pure Actives are your customisable element. These products have been formulated to treat specific skin concerns meaning you will be giving your skin only what it needs at that point in time. For example, if your main skin concern is hyperpigmentation and ageing you can use Pure Active Glabridin and Pure Active Resveratrol or Hyaluronic Acid to even out the complexion and plump the skin without unnecessary additional ingredients. The potency and proven effaicacy of ETAT PUR Pure Actives means you will get the best possible results for your skin.

Yes, you can use multiple Pure Active products at the same time, depending on your skin’s specific needs. They should not be mixed, but applied directly to the skin one after the other. However, we do not recommend the use of more than 2 Pure Active products simultaneously; above that threshold, the skin will saturate and won’t respond as well to the active ingredients.

If you have multiple skin concerns on different areas of the face, ‘spot treating’ with Pure Actives may also be an option. For example, spot treating blemishes or congestion with Pure Active Salicylic Acid 2%.

We do however advise against the simultaneous use of Pure Active Salicylic Acid 2% and Pure Active Citric Acid – AHA, these 2 active ingredients are very powerful and contain similar keratolytic features.

Following our Ecobiological approach, “Nothing more, nothing less” means you will only be using exactly what your skin needs at that point in time. There have been no additional unnecessary ingredients used within our formulations, providing the skin only with ingredients that are essential to avoid over treating and causing damage.

ETAT PUR products have been formulated to be applied in a specific way and it is important to follow these steps to get the best results out of your routine:

1. Cleanse your skin with a Pure Skincare cleanser or micellar water.
2. Apply the recommended dose of your Pure Active/s according to the label on the packaging to clean, dry skin. DO NOT mix Pure Actives in with your moisturiser. This will not be as effective.
3. Allow your Pure Active/s to dry on the skin before applying your Pure Skincare moisturiser and/or Eye Contour Fluid.
4. Follow with your preferred SPF in the morning.

Our Pure Skincare range is suitable for all skin types and concerns with no active ingredients. Pure Skincare is a biomimetic range that aims only to restore biological balance for optimal health and does not aim to treat any skin concerns, meaning you won’t find any unnecessary ingredients.
Our Pure Actives offer a wide range of skin solutions to treat only what your skin needs at that time – nothing more, nothing less. In the case of reactive skin, you would choose an active that will help reduce reactivity and strengthen you skin’s response to aggravating factors, like the Aloe Vera or Vitamin E Pure Actives.

Our products are not presented in pots, but in airless containers, pump bottles or tubes to protect them as much as possible from bacterial contamination which may happen when fingers come into contact with the product. However, preservatives are useful and essential to protect the formula for the duration of its lifespan. Some natural preservatives have therefore been added to prevent any bacterial contamination. They are used in very small concentration: black radish extract, potassium sorbate, capryloyl glycine for example.

Naturally, our formulas are developed FREE from preservatives such as parabens, phenoxyethanol or imisazolidinyl urea.

Our Pure Active products contain no fragrance. The same applies to certain products such as the Smoothing Eye Contour Fluid for example.

Most of our Pure Skincare products are delicately perfumed, however, with discrete fragrances especially formulated for ETAT PUR, respecting our strict requirements: free from allergens or irritating substances. All ETAT PUR fragrances undergo rigourous testing to ensure they are safe and suitable for even the most sensitive skin. Fragrance adds to the sensorality and enhanced experience using the products.

Some of our products do contain plant origin wheat alcohol at very low concentration (approximately 2%). It is essential to ensure that each formula has a good microbiological stability and optimal penetration of active ingredients. The alcohol used within ETAT PUR products does not penetrate or disrupt the skin barrier and instead acts as a carrier for active ingredients and creates safe, temporary microscopic openings in the lipid bilayer allowing the active ingredients to penetrate before the alcohol evaporates and the channels close.
While we use airless containers, pump bottles or tubes, alcohol is sometimes essential to effectively protect some of the formulas. It was a deliberate choice not to use any preservatives such as parabens or phenoxyethanol.
Rest assured, there is no reason for concern with reactive or sensitive skins: at such low concentration, it evaporates quickly upon application and does not penetrate the skin. This is why all our products have an excellent tolerance profile and were designed for the most delicate and sensitive skins.

Ecobiology is based on the principle that the skin is an ever-evolving ecosystem that interacts and changes with its environment. It is important to respect and reinforce the skin’s natural biological mechanisms using selected active ingredients that are in perfect harmony with the skin.
The ecobiological approach of ETAT PUR products means you will be treating the cause of your skin concerns and not just symptoms, using the most pure and effective ingredients at the exact dose the skin needs to prevent overtreating. Ecobiology has a preference for biomimetic ingredients that are safe and recognised by the skin. We do this in order to provide a more long-term solution to skin dysfunction.

Biomimetic skincare takes inspiration from the natural functions of healthy skin. These ingredients are found naturally within the skin, mimic the stucture of natural components or mimic a biological function of the skin in order to restore healthy balance. Biomimetic ingredients are accepted by the skin as they are recognised as a familar element. There is no criteria for the origin of biomimetic ingredients so long as they meet the aforementioned criteria, meaning their source can range anywhere from natural, organic, synthetic or biotechnology.

Pure Skincare is our range of essential care products aimed at restoring the skin’s biological balance and health. This range contains no active ingredients so you can fully customise your routine based on your skin concerns, avoiding unnecessary ingredients. All ETAT PUR Pure Skincare products are formulated using at least 98% biomimetic ingredients, which means they are accepted by the skin and will not disrupt the skin barrier.

INCI stands for International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients. This is the list of ingredients within each product and is displayed on the packaging.
The ingredients are listed according to their concentration within the formula: from the largest quantity (highest percentage in the formula) to the smallest quantity. There is no order enforcing the listing of ingredients in concentration of less than 1%.
